These concerts started in January 1996 from an idea of Peter Hill – clarinettist and Angela Thompson – pianist, to provide weekly lunchtime concerts.

Christ Church provided an ideal venue being located centrally on Lord Street, Southport and where the atmosphere is so friendly and the acoustics of the modernised church excellent.
