Small Groups

Home and Cell Groups

Celebration and intimacy are the essential ingredients of a balanced programme of Christian discipleship. Celebration through Sunday worship and intimacy through midweek groups. At Christ Church small groups provide the opportunity for nurture, discipleship training, fellowship and evangelism. Choice is provided through Alpha,, Cell Groups and a series called Searching Issues. Approximately 190 people, roughly two-thirds of the church membership attend individual groups.

Prayer Focus “A Church that prays together stays together”

At the heart of Christ Church is it’s prayer life. As well as weekly set times of prayer in the early morning and midweek, the church has a prayer calander which lists church activities. Additionally more urgent local and global needs are included on our monthly news leaflet.

At the beginning of 2004 and 2007 Christ Church held month of prayer when all church activities (apart from Sundays) were cancelled and the church was open each day for individual and group times of prayer as well as a 24/7 continuous prayer time during the whole month.

There are early morning prayertimes every Friday and 7.30 am with occasional congregational prayertimes throughout the year

Focus (After Sunday evening service)

Every Sunday evening at 8 pm the young people meet together. There is a time of worship and prayer and message from the scriptures, followed by group discussion. There are various activities and snacks provided which allows the group to socialise together and catch up on the past weeks events. Once a month the group meet in one of the leader’s home where there is a more relaxed friendly atmosphere where any questions can be asked and problems discussed in confidence.
